Hi r/burnout — I'm part of a small project called RootWild, and I wanted to share something in case it lands for anyone here. This isn't a productivity hack and it isn't a retreat weekend. It's a couple of guided formats for unhurried time outside — walked slowly, with one small act of kindness at the end — run by someone who reads every intake form the same day it comes in.
If your week has been mostly screens and the low hum of “I should probably rest,” and you've noticed the strange feeling of not really knowing what your shoulders feel like — this is for the version of you that's been meaning to step away for a while.
We meet on foot. Both formats are guided, small-group, and rooted in slow noticing — only the length changes.
Half-day — about four or five hours.A short, unhurried time outside. We'd walk slowly, notice the small things — the pattern of bark, the way light moves through leaves, the weight of our own breath — and finish with one small act of kindness, usually toward a patch of ground or a neighbor on the way home. You don't need a forest. A city park works fine.
Day-trip — about seven or eight hours.A full day tending to the more-than-human world — longer wandering, deeper presence, and a gentler re-entry at the end. You don't come back rewired; you come back a little more here. Most people say the way they read an email on Monday feels different after a day like this.
If any of this sounds like a thing you might want, the place to start is here. The form is short, there are no sequences, no follow-ups waiting in a queue — I read every submission and reply the same day, usually within a few hours:

Thanks for reading. If this isn't for you but the person three comments down looks like they need it — feel free to nudge them my way.
